From Nayapul the route climbs out of terraced farmland, through rhododendron forest and Gurung villages, and into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a glacial cirque ringed by 7,000-metre peaks. Teahouses operate along the whole walk. That access is why most published itineraries skip water, permits, and altitude pacing.
The terrain is not technical. Altitude is the main risk: the Sanctuary sits above 4,000 m and many itineraries climb quickly. The Hinku Cave approach can avalanche in winter and early spring.
