Byline
- The Hiking World editorial · author
Desk byline for seed records. Named surveying editors replace this once a trail is verified.
About 192 km looping through the Accursed Mountains of Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro on old shepherd and smuggler paths.
Figures marked provisional are seed data and still need verification. Source and last-checked date sit under each cited value.

Opened in 2013, this circular long-distance trail is routed across three national borders on purpose. The paperwork matters as much as the topography: hikers need a cross-border permit that lists planned crossing points, arranged weeks ahead.
The walk is village to village through sparsely developed high country. Guesthouses provide beds; resupply is limited. Waymarks exist but vary by country, which is why a structured record is more useful here than a crowd-sourced GPS dump.
