A trail qualifies when its bestSeason string recommends spring and/or autumn, or says to avoid peak summer heat. Trails whose only stated window is high summer are excluded. Unverified seasons have no basis and are excluded. Each card quotes the record’s season string.

Why are some famous walks missing?

If the season field is unverified, or the record only names a high-summer refuge window, the trail does not qualify. We do not guess a shoulder season.
