Peru Inca Trail permits explained (2026): quota, February closure & the Machu Picchu ticket change
Public-level access for the classic Inca Trail in Peru. Operator-only ticket, February closure, and a 2026 split between the trail network and the citadel. Fee amounts are gated and are not copied here.
2026: the trail ticket is not Machu Picchu entry
Ministerio de Cultura opened 2026 sales for the Red de Caminos Inka and for the Llaqta de Machupicchu as separate reservation processes. RM 306-2025-MC requires a circuit 3-B citadel ticket for visitors who continue from the trail into the site. Book both. The trail network ticket does not include citadel entry.

You cannot self-issue. Access is reserved through an authorized agency on tuboleto.cultura.pe. Daily capacity is on the order of 500 people, of which roughly 200–250 are trekkers — a public quota, not a price. Book months ahead. Amounts are not stated on this page.
