Corsica's GR20 — Frà li monti — is the granite spine of the island, Calenzana to Conca, with no walking permit but mandatory PNRC refuge bookings. The Tour du Mont Blanc is a second region: a ~170 km loop from Les Houches around the Mont Blanc massif that crosses France, Italy, and Switzerland. Filed under France because Les Houches is the classic start — do not read it as a France-only trail. The third is the GR 10, La traversée des Pyrénées, Hendaye on the Atlantic to Banyuls on the Mediterranean — no walking permit; gîtes and refuges are logistics.
